This is also known as B-52 lake where is the only one place that still preserves a part of the B-52 remnants until now in Hanoi capital. People often call it “B-52 lake”. Go visiting Huu Tiep lake and hear the local people tell you historical stories about the victory and the aircraft B52.

It is basically a fragment of the B-52 bomber protruding from a small lake named Huu Tiep. Knowing a little history of Vietnam-American war will supposedly make your trip here more enticing. Just spare a couple of minutes taking some pictures here when one is at the Ba Dinh district visiting the Ho Chi Minh mausoleum and the one pillar pagoda.

I've walked many kilometres on Hanoi roads using just an offline map on my phone which can pin point my position on the map by GPS.

The Museum is located approximately 300m south of the "B-52 lake", Hồ B-52 or Huu Tiep Lake which appears to contain part of the undercarriage section of the B-52 at the Museum. A plaque at the lake states that the aircraft was a B-52G shot down by a Surface-to-air missile (SAM) fired by the 72nd Battalion, 285th Air Defence Missile Regiment on 27 December 1972, however the only B-52s lost that day were two B-52Ds.
